Comic Strips

Comic strip is basically a sequence or succession of different drawings that says a particular story. Presently, most common comic strips in the western world are drawn and written by cartoonists or comic artists. Comic strips have been famous and popular sin different countries. Newspapers often include comic strips and people read them fondly. They were introduced in the early 1940s in the first newspaper that appeared in USA in the 19th century. The yellow kid included the first comic strip.

Slowly and gradually, the art of combining pictures and words evolved naturally and comic strips could be found at different places around the world. As more and more people got interested in reading comic strips it was seen that people waited for their Sunday newspaper as most of the time it was the Sunday newspaper that included the comic strip. But today, you can easily find comic strips in the newspapers on regular days as well. The length and the size of the comic strip depend upon the story of the comic strip and the size of the newspaper. One of the major comic strips POGO appeared in the New York Star in 1948.

Now that and is somewhat different than it used to be in the early nineties. Previously the comic strip that appeared on the Sunday newspaper was completely different from the comic strips that use to appear on the week days.
